Dial-A-Phone Claims The E71 As Gadget Show Hero

E71 White SteelAndrew Boxall, over at Dial-A-Phone, has reviewed the Nokia E71, looking at every feature and even how it fits in with Nokia’s lineup. Most of the review is also spent comparing the Nokia E71 to the recently launched Apple iPhone 3G, against which it actually fares rather well.

Despite the smaller screen and less intuitive web browsing, Andrew decides that the E71 bests the iPhone 3G in several areas, including the awesome QWERTY keyboard and GPS implementation. What do you think? Have you had a chance to compare directly with the iPhone 3G?

E71 NAM Available At Nokia Chicago Flagship

E71 Grey SteelReports are in from HowardForums members that the Nokia Flagship store in Chicago now has a limited number of grey steel E71-2 NAM models in stock and ready to rock. Priced at $483, these units will work on AT&T’s high-speed 3G network around the country.

There is no word on the white steel version’s availability, but I’m glad to see the E71 NAM becoming available in a timely manner, in line with the Euro versions. It’s nice to see the U.S. not getting stiffed.

The Nokia Flagship store in Chicago is located on Michigan Ave, just across from the Apple store and down the way from the Hotel Intercontinental. You can apparently phone 312-670-2607 to get on the waiting list.

Has anyone heard from the NYC store?

Nokia E71 Unboxed

GadzillaBlog has snagged a new Nokia E71 and put together an unboxing video, since we geeks like that sort of thing. The video starts out with a great simple explanation of the various versions of the E71, notably that E71-2 is the one that AT&T users will want, for 3G compatibility.

The packaging looks nice, I like the various compartments and the little slide-case that’s included.
