Introducing The E71Blog Store!

We’re all huge fans of the Nokia E71, which means that we either own one, or want to own one. To make that easier, I’ve setup the E71Blog Store, partnering up with Amazon. Through here, you can purchase the E71 (either color), or the E63 (since it’s close enough). You can also pick up the E71x, if you’d rather do that.

I’ve also gone through and hand-selected a few appropriate accessories for our phones, including cases, protective shields, and screen protectors, all guaranteed to work perfectly with your E71. The 2.5mm-to-3.5mm (3-ring) adapter is in there, too, so that you can easily use whatever headphones you want with your phone. MicroSD cards are also available, with the 8GB version only $15!

Hopefully, this will make it easier for you to find the correct accessories for your phone, and it helps me out with hosting this blog! Be sure to pass the link to your friends, and feel free to purchase other Amazon.com products through the store, as well. The store is handled completely by the experts at Amazon.com, which means your credit card and mailing address information is safe. The store is available at http://www.E71blog.com/store, or you can click the big friendly button on the sidebar over there.

Mercury Desk Stand For Nokia E71

Mercury E71 StandIf you weren’t a fan of the Brando desk stand for the E71 that I covered yesterday, there’s another option – the Mercury Desk Stand, from Mobilefun.co.uk. Gerrymoth from NokiaAddict.com has ordered this one, for the cheap price of GBP17.14, including shipping. I rather like the design cues of this one, much better than the utilitarian design of the Brando version.

From Gerrymoth’s Twitter feed, we can see that this Mercury stand has a usb charger, so that you only need one cable going from it to the computer, apparently. I would expect to see a full write up on NokiaAddict soon, but if you’re a bit more brave, you can go ahead and order your own here.

Brando USB Cradle For Nokia E71

Nokia E71 Desktop StandDotsisx over at Symbian-Guru has been using the Brando USB Cradle for her Nokia E71 lately, and finds that it works exceptionally well, despite the odd placement of data connections on the E71. The cradle costs $24, and for that you get a desktop stand that props your E71 up, making it easy to see if you have a new message or incoming call. You can also charge the E71 from the stand, as it is automatically plugged in when you drop the phone in.

For data sync, there is a microUSB cable that comes out of the back of the stand, and plugs right into the phone. You’ll need to manually attach this cable each time you place your phone in, unfortunately, but that’s due to Nokia’s design, not Brando’s stand.

It looks like a great little unit, and Dotsisx says she’s actually been using it like a TV for streaming video over 3G. You can order this straight from Brando, if so inclined.

Must-Have Nokia E71 Accessory – Stereo Adapter

JAVOedge 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter

One of the common complaints against the Nokia E71, specifically among seasoned S60 vets, is the 2.5mm headset adapter that’s built-in. Only 1mm too small for a standard earphone jack, this presents a problem for E71 lovers, as they must either settle with the poor quality of the bundled headphones, or seek out a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter.

Thanks to Jonathan Greene of Atmaspheric Endeavors (this guy finds all sorts of great stuff!), that search is made easier. It turns out, the JAVOedge 2.5mm to 3.5mm stereo adapter listed on Amazon as being for the Treo works great with the Nokia E71! This little accessory is also cheap, at $4 for a 2-pack, you’ll have a spare adapter to keep in the car or in your travel bag!
