After much hoo-ing and haw-ing over the leaked blurry photos, user manual, and others, AT&T has finally admitted to launching the Nokia E71x. You’re familiar with this variant, which features that hot new black color scheme I spotted earlier, as well as S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2 (now with more confirmation, direct from AT&T’s product page).
The E71x is set to be available in the coming weeks, priced at $99.99 after a 2-year commitment (and probably a mail-in rebate). It’s also confirmed on the product page that the E71x is classified as a smartphone, which means you can’t use a MEdiaNet data package, but must instead sign up for a PDAconnect plan. The only difference in the two is price – the PDAconnect does not give you any faster speeds or anything.

Will I need to upgrade to PDA-connect even with an unlocked E71 (not x)?
That’s probably a stupid question, but I get so confused with the different plans and why you can’t choose whichever one you want.
you should be able to continue using the MEdiaNet package with your unbranded E71.
My data plan is $15 unlimited. Didn’t understand why people pay more for PDA plan.
Nice theme on the phone, does anyone know if it is available for download?
So its the $99 AT&T branded E71x, & data plan @ $30 USD for 24 months
versus an unbranded $319 E71 & $15 USD MediaNet data plan?
Seems simple enough to me.
Any news about the red color? When will it be available?
