Now that we’ve confirmed that the E71x from AT&T will have S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, there’s an interesting question: would you rather have an unbranded E71 with S60v3 Feature Pack 1, or a branded phone with S60v3 Feature Pack 2?
To be sure, both options have various benefits and drawbacks. Unbranded is usually better, as you won’t encounter any silly restrictions, such as the size of MP3 ringtones, various branding and ‘buy this’ links strewn about, or things locked down, like the layout of the main menu. On the other hand, some of AT&T’s services are rather nice, including the AT&T-branded TeleNav GPS service, Cellular Video, and Video Share (for video calling).
With the branded version of S60v3 Feature Pack 2, the branding annoyances listed above would be balanced by Destinations, which allows you to group access points and makes the phone more intelligent about using WiFi before 3G. The various menus are also cleaned up slightly, and you should notice a bit of a performance boost, both in terms of speed and battery life. Again, though, you have to deal with branding restrictions.
What would you prefer? The unbranded, but S60v3 Feature Pack 1 E71, or the branded, but S60v3 Feature Pack 2 E71x?

Unbranded!!! The Destinations can be replicated with Smartconnect, a free download from the Download! thingy on the fone.
That new standby screen sure is nice, though.
One of my favorite things about my E71 is that its unbranded. I’m happy with what my phone has (Just about everything).
I really love the FP2 active standy screen… and the space gained,… because in FP1 there is a huge amount of unused space under the clock… and i don’t understand why it was like this in the first place…
I like FP2. What does it matter, I’m already on AT&T
I’ve purchased Handy Shell for my E71 so I really have no big use for FP2

Its a tiny little bit of a let down that the e71 doesnt have fp2. Would be awesome to see in an update , which i somehow really doubt . Is the hardware in the e71x exactly the same ? and is it just for at+t in the u.s?
Can I install us version E71 OS in E71x? If yes can you help me on issue?
Amm… I have E71 but i wish have e71x cuz it has big icons in the idle what i like
