Feature: Flahorn Icon Themes For E71

Great apologies for the lack of posting. I’ve spent the last several days poring through various forums around the interwebs, desperately seeking themes for the E71 that use the Flahorn Icon Pack, which looks really close to the older S60v3 default icons, instead of these ugly grey things.

I spent the better part of a week installing and uninstalling themes from the Nokia E71, to bring you only themes that I’ve tested and approved. Without further ado, here are 6 themes for your E71 using Flahorn’s AWESOME icon pack.

First up, from ICEman, is basically the default Eseries theme, only with Flahorn Icons. This is the most complete one, as even the GPS and Office folders are changed.

EseriesEseries

You can download this here.

Another great one is called Symbian OS 9x by k1slenko. Unfortunately, the GPS and Office icons (as will be the case with the remainder of the themes) are not changed. However, if you delete these, and recreate them manually, you’ll be rid of those ugly things once and for all!

Next up is the default S60v3 FP2 theme, with the updated icons. This one is straight from P@sco, a great themer who also blogs at jaspp.net.

Download this one here.

Another classy theme is called ‘ilikediswayFP1′ by Dhanu. This one looks really good on the E71, particularly.

Mauikek B is another theme directly from Flahorn himself. The icons are colored, but designed the same as the others, and it looks really good on the Nokia E71’s display.

The last theme I found with the excellent Flahorn icon pack is called Calm, by Ahmed.

You can download this one here.

I also found the Haze by Bandez theme, which looks like the theme shown off in the S60 Touch previews on S60.com. The icons on this look great, too.

In case you’re wondering about my menu setup, I used this awesome walkthrough/setup from Symbian-Guru, which works really well and has everything in a logical place.

    Great themes, thanks a lot!

May I ask who is the author of the first theme (the complete one)?
    Thanks.

I installed the ESeries E71.sis. After every reboot, I get a message that an unsigned software is installed. The theme works fine though.
I installed it in the memory card. Is that a problem?

    Thanks,

Hi, Any idea if these themes work well on a Nokia E66 too?

    August 14th, 2008 | 2:30 am
  6. @Darksoul – there’s no reason they shouldn’t, though I haven’t personally tested them.

@SaDudE – I’m using the built-in messaging client with Gmail IMAP.

Very weird…I use Gmail IMAP as well and was wondering how to get them to show up on the home screen. What setting did you have to enable?

Also I am using the built-in messaging client via mobjab and I never saw them pop up on my home screen either…what setting is this?

I feel like such a newb for asking these questions.

  9. @ICEman – not a problem! It’s excellent, I hope to see lots more themes using the Flahorn icon pack!

Hi, great looking collection of E71 themes. I also have an E71 and I have been looking for themes. I finally stumbled into your site and I was so excited to install the themes into my phone but every time I install one I keep getting a message saying that there is a certificate error. Can you give me a suggestion or something as to where I went wrong? Thank you.

    Found it:

To solve this problem I had to go into my Application Manager and mess with some settings.

See the steps below to install themes on your Nokia E71:

Menu > Installations > App. Mgr. > Options > Software Installation > All.

Hi, the E71 theme looks awesome. The only problem I have with that is the new Nokia Mail client: all the e-mails on home screen have calendar icons (the one with “30″ on top).

Hey…why wont those few icons change???
It’s bothering me cause i use highly stylized themes and with those icons unwilling to change, the themes look…goofy…lol

Is there a way around this.

These themes are great, but I keep getting an error when I try to load them. The error is “Certificate Error, contact the application provider.” Does anyone know how to get around this? I’m new to the E71, so I don’t know all the in’s and out’s.

@IceMAN: Wonderful theme dude and many thanks for that. However I found one annoying bug in the sms viewer when there’s a phone number or just plain numbers inside the text message in which the color is black and hence unreadable. It may be better if the color is white or anything light. Any chance to rectify that please?

    Eseries.sis theme

    Dear ICEman
I find your theme very nice and useful on my E71, but the background colour on the calenders month view makes it difficult to read the daily schedule.
Do you have a version with another background colour- perhaps a dark blue like the one uses on the start screen? Or just the original grey-scale background?

Kind regards and thank you in advance

Thanks ICEman, reallly cool theme for e71 and a complete one. I have Grey_viitrio on my device which is really good ( nokia paid download). But the home screen is not completely customised for E71. Day and Date are not displayed on the top right hand corner. Any chance you could/ anybody in this forum fix this issue for me. I can send the .sis file by email. Many thanks.

1 thing though, i installed s60 prototype and when i used it and restarted the phone, something tried to install itself and error message came out “untrusted software installed”.. Deleted the theme and problem solved. The worst part is it reset my emails and all my settings and sent emails were cleared..

Anybody else had the same problem?
